Threats because of sanctions aren't going to get sanctions lifted. Actually doing anything won't help either and will likely result in military embarrassment. The US did major damage to their Navy back in 88 because they were laying mines and damaged a US warship. Apparently there are threats elsewhere as well.

Apparently real. Iran making moves considered threatening including apparently being seen with new missiles in their small boats. The US response is real as well. The US has made moves to protect personnel in the area and moved significant military assets into the area. I don't think we do that without a plausible threat.

My view is we should completely disengage from the ME(except Israel) and Islam. But I'm also living in the real world as it exists and know that isn't happening soon. So despite my fantasy, if only it could come true, we are in the ME and cannot ignore threats.

No, the problem is that a lot of them have moved here, as well as other places throughout the western world. |
