I think Eric was turning the proverbial ''other cheek'', but that won't matter to liberals.  After all, concepts such as diversity, tolerance, inclusion and love don't apply to Republicans.

For various reasons, I got to know the head of WH food service back in the day. His job was interesting. If the President has some dinner somewhere, say in a hotel or home, the WH staff prepared his dinner, even if it's the same as everyone else's. They bring in their own food and prepare it separately.

George Bush apparently had half a veg hot dog every day for lunch. His wife was all over them about what he ate. Bush II apparently was not "picky" about it, and of course did not drink (nor does Trump).

I got to have lunch with him and my daughter in the West Wing cafeteria, which was quite good, duh.

But I digress. Anyway, the SS is usually pretty good at keeping folks away from protectees, but in this situation I can see how a server would get with in say spitting distance.
