Odd? Why? It's even obviously.
I lost interest in the NFL 25 or more years ago, rarely watch a game any more, wife or not, so the "give back" is a nothing to me. It's not as if we do whatever she wants on Sunday, though we might at times. She's usually very agreeable to whatever I suggest. She knows Saturdays mean I'm going to be in front of the TV from noon until 10 PM and she's fine with that. She has her own life.
My "ex" back in the day was heavily into "quid pro quo". I don't think that is a way to run a relationship. You do things for the other not because you hope she'll do something for you, but because you want to make her happy.
I like making the wife happy when I can.
"Wife gives you"... struck me as odd as if she gave you permission. Your words don't connote "even"... but no relationship is 50/50.
Back to the Browns...

If I "give" her Sunday and she "gives" me Saturday, it's clearly "even". Ha.
I don't really care either way, it works for us. Go Browns. I'm a big Chubb fan.

You can put a bunch of talented people in a room and not get good results.
Think of "The Dana Carvey Show."- Dana Carvey
- Steve Carell
- Stephen Colbert
- Louis C.K.
- Robert Smigel
- Charlie Kaufman
- Bob Odenkirk
- David Cross
Cancelled after seven episodes. You can't force success. Chemistry and timing are impossible to predict.
P.S. I liked "The Dana Carvey Show", but I didn't miss it when it was gone. I lamented it not being better. Such is life. You think the Browns in 1994 had the same talent at the Steelers they could not beat? Hmmmmm, something in your comparison of TV shows and the Browns of 1994 seem off here.
My point was that you can put a bunch of brilliant coaches like Belichick, Saban and Ferentz and it's no guarantee.
Like the "The Dana Carvey Show" - great staff, lackluster execution.

Worst fans in all of sports. They ran these guys out of town over Bernie Kosar.

Even as a non-Browns fan, I thought they did Bernie wrong.
I'll never forget the excuse: "diminishing skills." Maybe they were kinda right, but that was cold.

and when they drafted LBer Mike 'mad dog in a meatmarket' Junkin #5 in the draft......and he bombed, it shot their credibility totally.....
Belichick was not ready. I suspect he learned a ton there as did Saban.

The Browns are such a bad organization. Outside of Paul Brown's successes, the Browns really haven't done anything to warrant being retained in the NFL. Only two original NFL teams have not made it to the Super Bowl. Detroit and Cleveland. Seems fitting.

I have no reason to believe they win more than 2 games. Can or will they? I have no idea. I don't have much hope in the raiders either.

They will win far more than 2 games.  They won more than that last year and have greatly improved to the point they are projected to fight for the division title.  They win between 9-10 this year.

Bill at at midseason had a draft board already filled out for the 2000 draft. Guess who was #1 and #2 on that list.
Jonathon Ogden and Ray Lewis only the main cornerstones of the Ravens 1st Super Bowl Championship team.
Bill refused to Coach in Baltimore and was let go , Ozzie Newsome took Bill's draft with him to Baltimore and until
this day gets credit with being a genius as a GM.
