I really miss the Ohio State Fair. Down here in Tennessee we have fairs, but when BBQ consumes most of the stands, you get sick of BBQ all of the time which we're all noted for. They do have some different things, but nothing like the State Fair. I can still remember walking into the gate and going into the dairy barn for a ice cream cone, homemade!!!! Strawberry please.

I lived in Hutchinson, KS, home of the Kansas State Fair, for a few years back in the 70's. Best part of the fair was the food and the hot rod tractor pulls. Seems like you could get better food at the fairgrounds. Maybe it was just the atmosphere.
