The United States Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit on Friday ruled that Minnesota may not compel videographers to produce wedding videos for same-sex weddings, as it would infringe on their First Amendment rights to free speech. https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/fed...x-wedding/

I think all discrimination laws and protections should be abolished. Once upon a time they were needed. That time has passed.

People are discriminated against for their political thoughts all the time. Why is that permitted but other forms of discrimination are prohibited?

The left intentionally set up anti-discrimination laws in a manner that would allow them to continue to discriminate against those that they find to be morally objectionable.

These cake laws have been ruled against as well.  There must me a need for gay services so don't gays open bakeries and photographer businesses. Find a need and fill it.

I'd prefer all people quit being c*nts and just act like decent humans instead of needing to politicize EVERYTHING.

I would like to agree 100%, but there are still a LOT of bigots out there. I think we are close to abolishing discrimination laws.

There's an attempt at social totalitarianism going on right before our eyes. If people don't serve gay weddings on religious grounds... GO LOOK FOR SOMEONE THAT WILL. Trying to compel people to violate their sacred beliefs or else, oh how tolerant. Â

It would be much easier if people just did the right thing, but we can't count on that. There are too many people who choose to treat other people like crap because of their sky wizard. That's not in any way unique to Christians.

Wait a minute, you're saying the videographers are treating people like crap because they won't violate their religious beliefs and film an abomination?

If my religious belief was Mormonism and, as such, i believed that being dark skinned was a curse from God, would you be ok with me not serving black people?

I've shot over 50 wedding videos.
I might have done one for a gay wedding or two. I can't remember. Honestly. I must have done one.
Nevertheless, it didn't matter to me as long as the check cleared. Truly!
The only ones that stick out in my mind were ones I had to travel far away to do and a double ceremony wedding that was Baptist and Indian with two ceremonies. I was about two minutes close to running out of DV tapes and battery life. Took forever!

It's not the same issue. For one we have laws regarding racial discrimination. Secondly, if a gay person wants you to video tape his wedding to a woman and the guy still refused, then it would be a comparable situation. A man "marrying" another man is not a marriage. So there's no discrimination. Sorry, but the definition of a marriage has been around for eons now. A Polygamist has more of an argument that his arrangement is a marriage than does a homosexual. Â
So what's next, going into an Islamic establishment and demanding to be served pork? Etc, etc, etc... They won't serve it to you because they don't serve pork.

We'll never abolish such laws. You can look forward to more of them, actually.

Father hires a babysitter and then cancels sitter once he learns the sitter is a 28 year-old man. Now he is being sued. Is this "progress"?
