Ohio State vs UC Game thread 9/7/19

Week 2 of the 2019 college football season kicks off this weekend and No. 5 Ohio State looks to move to 2-0 on the season after defeating Florida Atlantic 45-21 at Ohio Stadium last Saturday. To do that, the Buckeyes will need to defeat [b]Luke Fickell[/b] and Cincinnati, who travel thee 110 miles north to the Horseshoe this Saturday.
The Bearcats come into Ohio Stadium 1-0 as well after a 24-14 win against UCLA last Thursday.
This will be an in-state battle with a lot of pride on the line, as Cincinnati has 74 players on the roster from the state of Ohio, many of whom likely grew up Ohio State fans.

On Friday, Ohio State put out its depth chart for the battle with the Bearcats, with a few changes from the Week 1 version.

Yeah they showed a replay of that game last night. The guide said "Ohio State vs Cincinnati from Nippert Stadium" so I tuned in expecting to see a little leather helmet action. Instead it was that game, which was actually in Paul Brown stadium. 

I'm still amazed that they survived that game.

It's gotta be right up there.  Kind of reminds me of 2000 OU:  Good defense and a flair for the dramatic.  

We seemed to play up to or down to our competition.  We were on the ropes vs Cincy, NW, Purdue and Illinois, along with teams like Michigan and Miami.  I'm sure I've overlooking a few others as well.

Remember that game a year later vs San Jose State (I think that's who it was)?  We couldn't do anything all day.  Then when we HAD to have it Krenzel made a few throws to ice the game.  Dude wasn't the most talented QB we ever had, but he was definitely one of the coolest.

The game winning drive was set up by a Guidugli fumble where Darian Scott came unblocked up the blind side and just decleated him with a crown of the helmet to the earhole. Dude never even saw it coming. Gino went one way, ball went the other.

Today it would be like a fifty yard penalty and a five game ejection and Cincinnati would have won that game.

Back then it was just "OHHHH! He gets a free shot on the quarterback!"

I'm not sure tOSU doesn't cover. I have a weird feeling tOSU will play 4 quarters of football. Bama might cover the 55 point spread, too. NMST is awful.
