Sciano and Davis should never be hired as defensive coaches for those blunders on their resume's.
Wonder if Meyer reflects back on these two buffoons and if he can objectively see the difference in the
in the defense with competent coaching. No wonder he was having headaches on the sideline.

Was a minor football miracle that we went 13-1 last year. Â Thank you, D Haskins. Â

Florida exposed the Auburn offense, and vice versa. Auburn had chances at times. I still think OSU has the best "resume" using the eye test. Â
LSU looks kind of dangerous to me, they might upend Bama, but they have Florida first (in BR next week). The SEC undefeateds are about to play each other.
If Cincinnati goes 12-1, it should boost OSU as they clobbered them.

Paul Finebaum said this morning that until Alabama plays a tough game ahainst a quality opponent Ohio State is the best team in the country. He went on to say if the Buckeyes played Clemson right now they would beat them and it in his opinion would not be close. Pretty high praise coming from him.

That looked like two inept offenses rather than two great defenses to me.

I don't know how much Finebaum really knows about football, but he does know how to get attention. His opinions don't carry much weight with me.
The "eye test" is how well you blow out pastries and how good you look against decent teams, and of course ranked teams if you've played any. OSU passes each test, in my eyes. I fear UGA is missing something somewhere. They have blown out pastries, they have yet to play a "decent team", and they needed some breaks to beat ND at home. LSU looks dangerous as noted, but again they have played mostly pastries other than Texas, and LSU is allowing a lot of points. Bama has yet to play anybody, which is true for Clemson also though A&M might be considered a "decent team", and the UNC result is problematic in my mind. Maybe UNC has graduated into the "decent team" ranks? Florida has no offense. So, who has a better resume than OSU? Preaching to the choir here.
Wisconsin will be an interesting test I think. They were ranked 8/9, will move up with Auburn loss. I see them as too one dimensional to be in the elite ranks.

Notre Dame isn't a decent team? Baloney. Â
The bottom line is this. A solid win against Wisconsin will likely move Ohio State into the the Hightop77 predictor ratings number one position. I think Michigan State was a very good win but the Spartans are not a legitimate top 25 team based on their other games. We will see how it plays out as the competition for the top 4 teams gets tougher.

Meanwhile Penn St is lying out there in the weeds.  They look like a dangerous team to me.  At least regarding the B1G

I'd worry a lot more for OSU if the game were at HV at night.
Wisconsin is a bit of a threat obviously, maybe in Game Two?

Still not sold on them yet. Beat up on a bunch of bad teams and nearly lost to Pitt. If they win the next 3 games maybe they can be taken more seriously.

Rushing yards allowed tends to be depressed if opponents find themselves behind quickly. Those are still very good numbers.

Especially when you consider yards given up by second and third team defensive players.

I concur. I don't know about Alabama, they have yet to be tested, and look a little bit suspect. It'll all shake out over time I think. LSU might be better than Bama.
They host Florida in a night game which should be fun, but I see LSU winning comfortable, like 34-13. Â
UGA and OSU are tied at 3rd now, which doesn't really matter but puts both in position. UGA hosts South Carolina, a team that has not looked better than mediocre.
Wisconsin-MSU will be grown man football and interesting to watch I think.
