Hong Kong Protests...

Is this a serious question? I ask because these same folks don't give a rats a$$ about their own communities - Detroit, Chicago, Philly, etc. - yet we're supposed to believe they care about Hong Kong?

It was sarcasm...

Like to hear what the crater face coach of the Spurs has to say about this.  He's a big freaking liberal.

That POS would probably support the Red Army invading Hong Kong.

Yeah, he trashes his own president like he's some human rights violator, meanwhile the league bows down to China.  CHINA!  Trump sucks, but let's not criticize China.  CHINA!  Lmao.  The American left has gone completely bonkers.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has released a second public statement.  What seems worth noting... this is the exact same statement as the first one, worded more diplomatically [and] expresses a boneless hope that “whatever our differences, we respect and value each other” and a limp preference for American and Chinese people, who might disagree on the issue of whether or not the Hong Kong demonstrators ought to have their eyeballs shot out, to focus instead on “what we have in common as human beings.” Namely: Basketball is awesome.

China's response... We are strongly dissatisfied and we oppose Silverâ€s claim to support Moreyâ€s right of free expression. We believe that any speech that challenges national sovereignty and social stability is not within the scope of freedom of speech. To this end, CCTV Sports Channel of the Central Radio and Television Administration has decided to immediately suspend the current broadcast arrangements of the NBA pre-season (China Games) and immediately investigate all cooperation and exchanges involving the NBA.

I assume the Chi-coms are taking away all of Morey's "social credits".  Wonder when Silver will start groveling and begging them for forgiveness?  Maybe after the NBA players demand it?

Clearly they don't care much beyond wearing t-shirts and whatnot... which is the least they could do pretending to be down with the cause.

I doubt most of them are even capable of understanding these issues.

China uses a host of monopolizing strategies to extend its geopolitical and commercial power, everything from below cost pricing to grab market share, patent trolling, espionage, mergers, and financial manipulation. In fact, the CCP is best understood as a giant monopoly that also controls a nation of 1.4 billion people and a large military apparatus...

Chinaâ€s biggest asset in gaining power was how most people in the West just didnâ€t realize that the CCP aimed to use it. Now Chinaâ€s cover is blown. The raw exercise of power to censor a random Houston Rockets basketball executive has made millions of people take notice. Everyone knows, the Chinese government isnâ€t content to control its own nation, it must have all bow down to its power and authority.

He punted, like any woke liberal when faced with a simple question.

"However, following the controversy surrounding Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey's comments on China, Kerr chose not to give an opinion on the matter.

"I don't," Kerr said following Warriors practice Monday evening. "It's a really bizarre international story, and a lot of us don't know what to make of it. So it's something I'm reading about just like everybody is, but I'm not going to comment further than that."
