Again, I would say there are gray areas.  I mean is it entirely their business when some knucklehead brings home some VD to his wife?  Or if some crackhead robs his neighbor so he can buy more dope?  Obviously drugs would be looked at on an individual basis.  i.e. Not all drugs are created equal.  Then there's the sex industry which would literally be impossible to regulate.  Hold it right there mister!  Pull out of her.  Are you wearing a condom?

Way back in the day the Battalion Commander made sure we were sent to Amsterdam before returning back to CONUS to be with family - guys were beating their wives and girlfriends. 

Our rations cards actually had money set aside for booze, cigs, and "entertainment". I traded my "entertainment" portion for cigs and booze then traded those to local merchants for food I would bring to churches to be used for poor kids.

I can't think of much that results in taking away our rights and freedom more than open borders and drug infestation.  Those are what libertarians today are all about.

I'm obviously against freedom.  Sort of.  For me, freedom increases in direct proportion to responsibility.  The less responsible we are, the less we can be free to do stupid irresponsible stuff.  Folks learn that credit card they maxed out has consequences, so they say it's not fair and want government to protect them, so we end up with tiny legalese no one reads to protect us from those nasty banks.

From what I can discern, "we" don't deserve to be free.  And we're headed in that direction quickly.
