If not for colonialism and apartheid, African nations would be the most advanced in the world and probably would have put men on Mars by this time.

Do you really believe that?  You post similar thoughts, often. Is there some deep seated fear that may have been true?  African wealth; diamonds, ivory, slaves, gold, etc. certainly enriched a group of people willing to exploit it.

Actually they probably would have colonized Mars, cured cancer, and developed new energy forms that would end the threat of global warming that are totally cost free.  What a shame those white devils held them back.

Bad people on both sides. But your simplistic explanation is bs.

It's simplistic bs... according to you. If I may quote Mr. Sowell, People who pride themselves on "complexity" and belittle others for their "simplicity" don't realize the truth is often not very complicated. What gets complex is evading the truth.

The truth is... innocent people were murdered and you insist dragging events from 150 years ago, claiming they're relevant, for the purpose of excusing the murder of Christians.

Did not excuse any murders. I put those events into the context of how the Congo has been violent and violated for, as you say, 150 years. Where were Christians like you when millions of Congolese were murdered, ostensibly by “Christians”.

They couldn't even figure out how to build a raft and float themselves over to Madagascar, which is actually visible from the African continent.

The first people to get there sailed for thousands of miles from Indonesia.

Welcome Somenole.  I always liked Somenole as a poster.  He had different opinions backed them up and rarely trolled.  Brought good points to discuss.

We did not agree often but I like where he comes from.  Welcome.

Yes, you stated "not to excuse what happened" yet the only discernible reason to cite history of 150 years ago was to excuse the actions of murderers and shift some of the blame to the victims as if they're partially responsible for the atrocities that happen back then. At least you didn't cite the Christian Crusades to justify the violence and death.

Where were Christians like me when millions were murdered? It's rather comical that you suggest... 1) Christians stood idly by and even condoned the actions of an evil, evil man and 2) Christians are responsible for the massacre of ~10 million people, in part or in whole?

That is the classic somenole logic I've come to expect...

You donâ€t know the history. Christian Europeans did stand by and did tacitly condone, if not outright condone the pillage of the Congo. The ones that knew did, at least. It was a different world. Itâ€s changing.

I don't have to know history in detail to understand your making excuses for murder of Christians today.
