Indians over Reds today 8-5. Kinda disappointing the way Lorenzen has pitched this spring.
BOX
TWO spots left in the pen.  Stephenson and Peralta looks as if they will make it. The others like Bowman, Wisler are controllable.
Starters- Mahle, Roark, DeSclafani, Castillo, Grey.
Bullpen- Lorenzen, Hernandez, Hughes, Iglesias, Stephenson, Peralta, Duke
Position players staters- Barnhart C,  Votto 1st, Peraza 2nd, J. Iglesias SS, Suarez 3rd, Kemp LF, Schebler CF, Puig RF,
Bench- Winker, Farmer, Dietrich, Casali,Â
That leaves the roster at 24. I'm not sure about the last spot. Could be a guy in the pen to make 13 pitchers.

Here is MORE on the Gennett injury:
Groin Injuries 101
Groin injuries are muscle strains. They concern the adductor muscles that run from the inner pelvis to the inner thigh bone. Strains are muscle tears. They range from less severe strains where a few fibers rip but the muscle remains intact to severe strains that involve complete tearing (“rupturingâ€) of the muscle.
A groin injury affects a playerâ€s mobility as well as the ability to generate power in the lower body. It hinders the kinetic chain impacting the strength of throws and bat swings. Research shows hip and groin injuries account for 5% of player injuries. They occur most frequently with infielders who get hurt when theyâ€re fielding. Thatâ€s what happened in this case.
As you would expect, recovery time depends on the severity of the injury. A minor groin injury might require three weeks of rest, while a more severe strain could require four to six weeks. Joe Panik, Giants 2B missed 3.5 weeks last year with a groin strain. The average length of time on the DL with a groin injury for a position player is about a month. A complete tear could require surgery, which comes with a recovery period of up to three months.
With the Reds announced 8-12 weeks on Gennett, youâ€d infer his injury was on the serious end of the spectrum.
Resting is critical to full recovery. Returning too quickly could worsen the injury and extend the recovery period. Last year, Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez was out for a month with a groin pull, returned for three games, and then was sidelined for five more weeks with a recurrence.

Dietrich and Iglesias
The question now for the Reds is how to fill Gennettâ€s role for 1/3 to 1/2 of the season. Veteran infielders Derek Dietrich and Jose Iglesias, who were going to make the team even before Gennettâ€s injury, are possible candidates.
Dietrich (29) has played 188 major league games at second and would seem to be an obvious first choice. His left-handed bat could replace Gennettâ€s pop. In the 75 games Dietrich played away from cavernous Marlins Park last year, he hit .290/.363/.496 in 278 plate appearances. Thatâ€s an isolated power (ISO) of .206 and wRC+ of 133.
In two years with the Reds, Gennett has hit .303/.359/.508; with .205 ISO and 124 wRC+.
A platoon with Iglesias (29) and Dietrich also makes sense. Dietrich has a 28-point L/R career split (wRC+) and Iglesias a 30-point split on the opposite side.

Today is the last game in Arizona for the Reds.  I will always remember my first trip to spring training. It's a real blast and great time and awesome to get out of Ohio in March and the cold. Thanks again to my friend 3rd Gen for couple of games he paid for the tickets. Was glad to see him and my good friend Takethepoints.  Going to Grand Canyon made the trip even better along with seeing Sedona.
(Thanks to my bosses at work, too )

Reds lose to Rockies today 4-3. Sonny Gray looked great. Raisel Iglesias did not. As the spring training winds down couple of things looks good and some not so good.  Votto did not hit much. No big deal really. Winker didn't either. Suarez did not hit very well. Barnhart did not.  It's spring training so we can't put much stock into the spring numbers as we know these guys can hit and will hit.
What is encouraging is Puig and Kemp and Peraza with great spring training numbers. Wandy Peralta may rebound from an off season last year to pitch well in 2019. He's looked pretty sharp. It's somewhat perplexing about Iglesias and his spring. Gotta have this guy do well in 2019 for the club to really have a solid season.

For you Reds fans I've got some great news on possible new posters to this site and in particular this thread.  My wife's cousin on her step dad side plays in the Reds dream camps they run each january and he's become friends with Daryl Chaney who played for the Reds in early 70s. (he may have met him in another way. Not sure so I'm guessing) Trying to recruit both of them and former MLB pitcher Don Gullett who is a local boy to join and give some expert analysis this summer. Of course you'll still have me the savant posting everyday, every game, every inning.Â
ENJOY THE SEASON!!!

Coaches have been working hard with the hitters. Turner Ward is highly respected coming from Dodgers.  Here is some bio on him. Alabama man.
